Clichy denies transfer talk

Arsenal's French left-back Gael Clichy has dismissed rumours linking him with a big-money move to Spain to join either Barcelona or Real Madrid.

The 24-year-old still has another two years of his current Gunners contract to run and he is in no hurry to move on just yet.

He told the London Evening Standard:"It is great that these teams like Barcelona and Real Madrid are looking at me.

"They are great teams as everyone knows, but all I want to say is that I am focused on the end of the season.

"I want to win something here. I have two years left on my contract, so it is not a question to answer."

Clichy joined Arsenal from Cannes in 2003 and has since racked up well over 200 first-team appearances for Arsene Wenger's side, scoring his one and only Gunners goal to date against Stoke City in November 2008.Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
